Canine Psychology Courses

Having just completed the Advanced Canine Psychology course I would just like to convey how much I thoroughly enjoyed both the advanced and intermediate canine psychology courses.

It has given me a lot of confidence and has enhanced my knowledge of canine behaviour. I have worked in animal rescue for many years, and the knowledge I have gained by undertaking these courses will, I hope, enable me to assist dogs in being given a better opportunity to be re-homed, where in many cases they would remain in rescue for many years.

I would like to state that the courses I have studied on have been so importance to my life, and I would certainly recommend the College to Anyone I meet who is interested in studying dog behaviour or any other courses the College offers.

I would like to thank both Lelly Bond and Wendy Hanson, who were my tutors. they provide great help and support throughout my course, and were always available to answer any queries. Lelly was so help on the advanced course and always prompt in replying to my emails.

My courses provide me with direction and has given me confidence to move forward in my work as a canine psychologist. My colleague has also given me the opportunity to work within her business as a volunteer consultant canine psychologist and dog trainer.

So many thanks to everyone at the College for this lift in my life and giving it meaning. I will always be grateful to the Animal Care College.

Advanced Feline Psychology

I wanted to study cat behaviour because I have 5 cats and I breed and occasionally show.
I have been a Veterinary Nurse for 14 years. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and cannot think of any way in which it could be improved. It has been hard though. I work full-time and I am bringing up 2 teenage boys on my own - but I made it thanks to the support I received from the College and my tutor

Recent Seminars

I felt it necessary to let you know how much I enjoyed the weekend seminar. I found Saturday's new approaches to canine psychology and behaviour modification thrilling and Sarah gave us a breath of fresh air when it came t the old school techniques that have seemed to become popular in the recent years. Sunday was just as informative and I will definitely be attending any future seminars, I only hope that it's not too long wait.

Companion Animal Bereavement Counselling

I completed the course this year and received a certificate plus National Open College Network (NOCN) Accreditation,. This qualification has given me the confidence to extend the range of support that I can offer. Even after ten years experience of voluntary counselling for human loss I found the Diploma in Animal Bereavement Counselling richly rewarding. I am greatly indebted to my tutor for her wonderful support and I can see myself enrolling for further courses with the Animal Care College.

Fit for Life

I just wanted to say thank you for having such excellent courses. I have completed Understanding the Family Dog in November 2008, and I am currently studying Fit for Life: Feeding, Training & Caring for the Family Dog. On Saturday morning my Greyhound had refused his breakfast he was restless with a expanding rib cage, I knew straight away that it was bloat, so I phone my vets to warn them that he would be coming in asap. I knew that time was of great importance and took him straight in, but even the two vets who looked at him where unsure that it was bloat. They did X rays and confirmed that in fact it was. He went on to have a four hour operation, thankfully his stomach had not twisted because it was caught early. He is now recovering really well.
The knowledge which I have learned form your courses has helped me to save his life.

Advanced Canine/Feline Care

I have really enjoyed my course, it was well structured and Heather was a wonderful tutor offering quick and effective feedback every step of the way.
I have also been accepted to go to China for 3 months in October to work with the Moon Bears, primarily in behaviour and management. It's a great opportunity for people working in the animal industry, and to apply for the role you have to be qualified and I wouldn't have secured the position if it were not for completing my courses, which rally advocates the further benefits of doing these types of courses. She really is an asset to your college. Whenever I have asked her for help (mostly by email) Heather has responded within a matter of hours. Heather is a true professional. Recommended Book - "Feeding your Dog for Health & Behaviour" by Wendy Hanson (course tutor)

I think your book is fantastic. I fond it so helpful and interesting at the same time, have rad it over and over an enjoy it every time. It is a real winner for me because I could understand it easily and it really got me interest in the effect diet has on health and behaviour. Not only did it get me successfully through Unit 4 of the Advanced Canine Psychology but my dogs are being fed really well and healthily as a result! thanks a lost.
